Wonderful trail of the top 5 monasteries of Sucheava, Romania
Reviewed on TripAdvisor on July 8, 2015 by 318Ome from Busan, South Korea My husband and I had a super tour of the top 5 monasteries of Suceava in Romania. Our tour lady guide & driver was a university graduate in Law who spoke perfect English, good safe driving in a reasonable car with seat belt, very knowledgeable with the top five monasteries that we were visiting, patient , very considerate about providing us enough time for pictures taking as well as maximum viewing of the sites especially with friendly rapport with some of the residents nuns and monks which made life smoother for us while visiting. Some of the wonderful frescoes both outside and inside the monasteries were so well painted and designed even though back many years ago were all very enlightening for us all.

“Excellent Experience”
Reviewed on TripAdvisor on August 6, 2015 by KenEs from USA The tour I took of the painted monasteries was fabulous. The guide was very knowledgeable and she provided a good balance between telling us about each monastery and giving us some time to walk around freely to take photos. I would definitely recommend Hello Bucovina Tours, it is run very professionally. The tour of the four monasteries was from about 9:00 until 17:00. The lunch on the tour was also very good, but if you order dessert (cheese pancake?), be aware the portions are quite large--consider sharing. I also stayed at the new hostel run by Ciprian, the owner of Hello Bucovina tours. The hostel was very centrally located in Suceava and it was quite clean and comfortable. Since I was spending three nights in the hostel I was even picked up from and dropped off at the train station.

“An amazing day tour from Suceava”
Reviewed on TripAdvisor on August 9, 2015 by eneemann from Haifa, Israel The tour was organized by Irene hostel. we were 4 people accompanied by a very knowledgeable guide. It was a 5 star tour to the Unesco heritage 4 monasteries, which are full of interesting frescos. THe guide explained the frescos in detail and answered any question that we had. At lunch time we were taken to a good restaurant which served us a typical local food (included in the price of the tour), and manage also to cater to the vegetarians among us. The day ended at 5 PM.

“Very interesting trip around the Bucovine’s monasteries”
Reviewed on TripAdvisor on August 18, 2015 by Vertaroutard from Saint Ouen, France We were 2 and hosted by Irene's hostel (very nice staff by the way) which arranged our trip to the monasteries. It is a one day trip and we were drived by a guide and stopped to the 4 most well preserved painted monasteries, plus the blackware pottery factory, and a very nice romanian specialties restaurant with a charming view on the valley. Everything was wonderful, the colors of the paintings, the views during the road trip, the food, and our guide. and all of this only for 35 euros per person (lunch included but not the tickets to the monasteries, which were about 1 euro per entry). This is such a great offer for such wonderful memories. I take this opportunity to thank our guide, Adrien, one more time, for all the explanations he gave us, for all the answers, for his remarquable knowledge upon the subjects of the monasteries and the religion, but also the romanian way of life. We've learnt so much more during this one day trip than our precedent 2 weeks in Romania. Thank you again Adrien.

“Fascinating tour”
Reviewed on TripAdvisor on November 29, 2015 by Stephen L from North Yorkshire, United Kingdom A brilliant tour last month to the painted monasteries and beautiful countryside of Bucovina. Until I arrived, I didn't realise just how interesting, unique and artistically stunning the painted monestaries were. However, our guide Ciprian really brought them to life with his in depth knowledge of each one we visited, so much so that we not only gained an appreciation of the buildings, but also of the deep spirituality of so many of the people of the region. I had never been to Romania before this tour, but I heartily recommend this region to anyone. It may not be as well known as some regions of Europe, but it deserves to be placed firmly on the itinerary of any traveller.

“Accommodating and knowledgeable guide granted us a fantastic day of monastery tour”
Reviewed on TripAdvisor on January 6, 2016 by Andy Y At 30/12, my girlfriend and me had a tour guided by Cip, the owner of "Hello Bucovina". It has been one of the most fabulous and memorable experiences throughout our two weeks of travel in Romania. Starting from around 9am, Cip drove us to visit four biggest monasteries. He had detailed and interesting explanations on the orthodox painting both inside and outside the monasteries. He is so accommodating in all senses, either to our junior knowledge on Christianity, our lack of understanding on the history of the Moldova region, and our stomach! We felt like friends throughout the whole tour, chatting all sort of things and stopped at some random spots for photos or so. He ended up bringing us to a great restaurant, one of his favorites, to try to best hamburger in Suceava! Indeed, it will be a shame if we didn't grab the chance to go with him! So don't miss it, a must do in Suceava!!

“Excellent tour with a friendly and knowledgeable guide”
Reviewed on TripAdvisor on January 23, 2016 by Daniel G This is my first TripAdvisor review. This is largely because I didn’t use the app much before I went on this trip. However, after my fantastic experience in Romania I felt compelled to write some reviews for the people who made it possible. Simply put, my experience with this guide was one of the best I’ve ever had. It was a last-minute decision to visit Bukovina and I was lucky that he was available. I asked for a day tour to see as many of the famous painted monasteries as we could. Man, did I ever get what I asked for. We set out at about 8 am and continued to drive from one monastery to another for the next several hours. The monasteries (and the other sights my guide recommended along the way) were incredible and they were made even better by the excellent explanations my guide gave. By the end of the tour my guide joked with the caretaker of one of the monasteries that I would have been able to give a tour of my own since we had gone over so much (about the significance of the paintings, about the history of the churches, about the history of the country). This was probably a bit of an exaggeration on his part but it helps to illustrate the detail he went into when explaining everything we were seeing. Every question I had was met with a detailed, informative answer. Every time we talked about a different region of Romania, I was met with excellent recommendations for guides, hotels and, of course, things to do. At the end of the day (when he kindly offered me a place to stay for a few hours until my train left) I not only felt I had just finished an amazing tour, but I also felt I gained a friend. Seriously, if you’re in the area, look these guys up. You’ll have an amazing time and the information you’ll recieve will continue to enrich your trip long after the tour is finished.
