“Excellent Experience”
Reviewed on TripAdvisor on August 6, 2015 by KenEs from USA The tour I took of the painted monasteries was fabulous. The guide was very knowledgeable and she provided a good balance between telling us about each monastery and giving us some time to walk around freely to take photos. I would definitely recommend Hello Bucovina Tours, it is run very professionally. The tour of the four monasteries was from about 9:00 until 17:00. The lunch on the tour was also very good, but if you order dessert (cheese pancake?), be aware the portions are quite large--consider sharing. I also stayed at the new hostel run by Ciprian, the owner of Hello Bucovina tours. The hostel was very centrally located in Suceava and it was quite clean and comfortable. Since I was spending three nights in the hostel I was even picked up from and dropped off at the train station.

“Commited to providing the best experience they can offer…”
Reviewed on TripAdvisor on December 9, 2015 by CaliforniaRoadman from California, USA First, let me address a concern most of us have when searching the internet for a more intimate tour itinerary and we find that such tours are usually offered by local tour companies rather than the larger corporate brands, and then we wonder... if not immediately, then certainly as we are about to wire a substantial sum of money to book the tour... is this local tour company legitimate? And, as we experienced, in the case of Irene’s Travel, you will not find any other company that could be more honest and committed to providing you with everything you ask for.a We hired Ciprian (Chip) Slemco for a two week tour through Moldova and Northern Romania, and our experience was everything we had hoped to find... and more. He was very personable and as he got to know us and what we are interested in, rather than insist on staying with our pre-arranged itinerary, he even offered modify our itinerary on the fly by suggesting that we take an excursion into Ukraine. We had not thought of doing that but we enthusiastically accepted. With his flexible attitude and his knowledge of the area we saw so many more things that suited our taste than we ever would have if we had taken a tour offered by a large tour company. Chip was totally accommodating and a great guide. And our tour included many more personal views of the region than any brand name tour could ever offer. (By the way, for clarification, the company name, "Irene’s Travel", is named after Chip’s wife Irene, while they use "HelloBucovina" as a more identifiable label for what they offer). We highly recommend their services.

The Grand Tour

With a little bit of everything in the countries around (and not only, if we are to also consider Germany, Russia and Turkey), Romania is so heterogeneous that one can come back over and over again to discover new places and meet new faces. Therefore take this tour as a teaser, as a taste of the country as a whole and then come back to explore in more detail. Start in Bucharest...

Castle Tour

Upon leaving Bucharest, in just two hours of driving you will reach the amazing and exotic Carpathian Mountains. The sheer rocks and impressive slender peaks provided a perfect shelter for Peles Castle, one of the most beautiful castles in the world. Cross the mountains into Transylvania and you’ll go back in time.
