    Description<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

    A real road race that takes you across magnificent mountains and untamed woods, respectively along picturesque valleys and their strong, clearwater streams. The tour starts in Suceava (or elsewhere in the region) and crosses the heterogeneous Bukovina with its houses scattered across hills and mountains towards the NE corner of Transylvania. It then goes up the Maramures with its wooden churches and carved wood residential architecture, all the way to Elie Wiesel’s hometown of Sighetu Marmatiei.

      Day 1<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

      Today is dedicated to a brief and rather quick crossing of the Bukovina, with its houses featuring colourful traditional patterns, as well as its painted monasteries. Following a walk in Vatra Dornei’s elegant spa park and a sip from the local spring, you will go on crossing the Borgo Pass and then enjoy the old town of Bistrita, a blend of German and Hungarian heritage. Making a few detours to experience the well-kept traditional lifestyle of Maramures, as well as its wooden churches, you will then overnight in one representative village for the area.<\/p>\n

      Day 2<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

      A borderland town, Sighetu Marmatiei will definitely stir your interest with its Elie Wiesel House, the local Memorial dedicated to the victims of the Communist rule, as well as the remains of the once thriving Jewish community there. The secoind half of the day will show you the world’s tallest wooden church, as well as tell you the outstanding, unique story of the Merry Cemetery in Sapanta. The tour can then take you back to Bukovina or end in Sighetu Marmatiei, from where you can continue exploring either Northern Romania or the Ukrainian highlands.<\/p>\n
